Our Story
Coolamon Baby is an Australian social enterprise based in the Byron Bay region of Northern NSW, on Bundjalung Country. Created to build a sustainable source of funding for Coolamon Community, 100% of our profits support its work alongside Aboriginal Health Services to provide practical, culturally safe support for Aboriginal mothers and babies.
It all started with a mother
Coolamon Baby began with mothers' hands and a deep respect for Culture.
It was proud Aboriginal women and mothers who founded Coolamon Community - the First Nations-led charity that delivers culturally safe baby bundles to Aboriginal mums widely across regional and remote Australia.
This work is grounded in the belief that every mother deserves to birth with dignity, and every baby welcomed in celebration, love and culture.
The idea for Coolamon Baby came as we packed Coolamons - week after week, bundle after bundle - in a small volunteer-run warehouse.
Each Coolamon is filled with care: wraps, blankets, clothing, nappies and much more. But it was also filled with story. With culture.
We see firsthand the difference the Coolamon gift makes for Aboriginal women. Mums who feel seen and celebrated, but we also see how much more could be done - but sustainable funding is key.
That’s when Coolamon Baby was born.
Created as a social enterprise, Coolamon Baby reflects everything Coolamon Community stands for: cultural pride, premium quality, community strength, and empowering motherhood.
Every product is a continuation of the vision -to wrap all babies in the kind of care that honours their culture, and the Country they come from.
Coolamon Baby is not just a brand. It’s part of something bigger - celebrating Aboriginal motherhood, bridging culture and care, and to remind the world to celebrate new life.
